Ma Ju Yuan suede eight-panel newsboy cap in a warm cognac brown, made by one of Beijing's oldest hat makers. Ma Ju Yuan dates to the Qing dynasty and was once known for making hats for imperial officials. It still operates today as a protected "time-honored" Beijing brand, and labels like this one are rarely seen outside China.
Beautifully broken in with a natural lived-in patina: light surface marks on the crown and back panel (pictured) and softened wear at the brim edge (pictured). Small fray at the edge of the sweatband (pictured). None of it affects wear, and it suits the character of the suede.
